64 Division and its Under Command Brigade Troops Disinfect Against COVID-19

Mullattivu-based 64 Division troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) on the directions of Major General Jagath Rathnayake, Commander, Security Forces - MLT and Major General Ajith Pallawela, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division carried out a disinfection and sterilization campaign in and around public places in Mullaitivu in order to mitigate risks of contamination during the spread of COVID - 19 threat.

The sterilization project covered public places in Oddusuddan and Kachchiyamadu areas where the troops of the 641 Brigade under the supervision of Colonel Janak Jayawardana, Commander 641 Brigade took part on Friday (30). Afterwards, troops also disinfected Thanduwan, Muthiyankaddukulam and Muththuwinayagapuram areas. Meanwhile, troops of the 643 Brigade under the supervision of Colonel Tiral Silva, Commander 643 Brigade on Saturday (31) with the objective of freeing the areas from the threat of COVID-19 virus and other infectious germs disinfected their areas.

Troops of the 641 Brigade, 643 Brigade, 14 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 13 Sri Lanka National Guard carried out the disinfection project with the support of members of the Public Health Inspectors of respective areas.
