409 More Infected Ones Reported-NOCPCO

As of this morning (4), a total of 409 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. All of them were from locally-identified affectees, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (4), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory stands at 8,266. Of them, 1041 are factory employees and other 7,225 are locally-identified contacts of those garment factory-infected employees. No flight has arrived as of this morning. Likewise, the 23rd COVID-19 death has been reported (03).

Within the day (4), 34 quarantined individuals after PCR tests are set to leave for their homes. Of them, 25 persons are from Ranweli Hotel QC, 01 person from Hotel Chamlet Beach QC, 01 person from Hotel Jetwing Blue QC, 02 persons from Hotel Mount Lavinia QC and 05 persons from Hotel Gold Sand QC.

To-date, 63, 223 individuals have left for homes after quarantining. As of this morning (4), 2,776 persons in 33 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (2), 10,446 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 546,803.

By 6.00 this morning (4), 332 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals. All those persons are identified as close contacts of the Minuwangoda garment factory-affected cluster.
