537 Recovered Patients Leave Hospitals - NOCPCO

The National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) stated a total of 449 were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours by today morning (Nov 08). Of them 445 are locally-identified persons and 04 are from overseas arrivals.

The total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda and Peliyagoda cluster stand at 9,941 as of today. Of them, 1,041 are factory employees, 1,007 persons from Peliyagoda Fish Market and other 7,893 are locally-identified contacts of their contacts, the NOCPCO statement confirmed.

Meanwhile. 412 employees of the Minuwangoda apparel factory have fully recovered while 3,887 of their associates have been discharged from hospitals, said the NOCPCO.

Further, the arrivals from the overseas to the country from Doha, Qatar stood at 17 and they were referred to quarantine centres managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

As of today (08), 63,784 individuals have left for homes after quarantining and 2,454 persons in 28 tri service-managed quarantine centres are still in quarantine.

The NOCPCO added that  537 persons, all from Minuwangoda cluster have fully-recovered from COVID-19  and were discharged from hospitals.

Within yesterday (7), 11,620 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 592,218.

Sri Lanka’s Coronavirus-related deaths reported rose to 34, the Department of Government Information confirmed.
