COVID-19 Death Toll Rises to 48 -NOCPCO

As of this morning (13), a total of 373 more persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. 4 of them are expatriates and all other 369 were from locally-identified affectees. Of those persons 271 are from Colombo, 46 from Gampaha and 12 from Kalutara, states the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO).

By 6.00 this morning (13), the total number of COVID-19 positive cases reported from Minuwangoda garment factory employees and Peliyagoda Fish Market stands at 12,226. 3106 of them are from the Minuwangoda cluster and all other 9120 were from Peliyagoda Fish Market cluster.

By yesterday (12), a total of 15,722 COVID-19 positive cases were reported from across the country. 10,652 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals and all other 5,022 are still under treatment in hospitals and care centers.

By 6.00 this morning (13), 470 fully-recovered COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours.

By this morning (13), 48 COVID-19 positive deaths have been so far reported and 2 deaths were reported in the past 24 hours. Of them, one was from Meegoda and the other from Colombo.

By this morning (13), about 30,000 persons of Frist and second contacts of COVID-19 positive cases are in self-quarantine.

This morning (13), the flight UL 455 from Japan with 16 passengers arrived in Colombo. The passengers were referred to Quarantine Centres (QCs), managed by tri-services after formalities at the airport.

As of this morning (13), 2,845 persons in 30 tri service-managed QCs are still in quarantine. Within yesterday (12), 10,111 PCR tests were carried out across the country and the total PCR tests conducted so far stands at 637,122.
